Invisibly ill? Join in with De Warmste Week

Events and Activities

At ALK Positive Belgium we know what it is to live with something nobody sees, but that you feel every day. Our members live with ALK-positive lung cancer, a rare, chronic condition that often stays invisible to the outside world. The impact is considerable all the same: physically, mentally and socially.

That is why this year we are taking part in De Warmste Week, whose theme is invisible illness and which supports 220 projects that build greater understanding and support.

We want to show what lies behind the smile, behind the days when we seem “fine”. What does it feel like to live with something you cannot see? What do you run into — misunderstanding, limitations, financial uncertainty, or the search for good care? And what genuinely helps when someone around you does want to understand?

Tell us in a few minutes via the questionnaire. Your experience helps the Vlaams Patiëntenplatform and VRT paint an accurate picture of what it means to be invisibly ill.

Here is how you can join in:

  • Share your experience via the questionnaire – every story counts.
  • Let us know whether we may contact you for a testimonial.
  • Wear your little flame, buy it online in the DWW webshop or at KBC, and wear it with pride.
  • Share this campaign with friends and family: together we make invisible illnesses visible.

Together we make invisible illnesses visible.
